The new release marks the first official outing of rare recordings that had until now been circulating among the most die-hard Argerich fans. Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21, with the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra under Peter Maag is the main work on the disc, along with piano sonatas No. 8 (K. 310), No. 10 (K. 333) and No. 17 (K. 576), all recorded in 1960.
Curiously, the words 'Vol. 1' is also mentioned on the cover, suggesting future installments. But of what, I wonder? While we all wait in anticipation for the remaining volumes to be released, here are pre-order links for this first release for Germany, France and Japan.
