Concerts August 2013

Although Argerich was scheduled to perform two concerts in Warsaw in August at the 'Chopin and His Europe Festival', she will now perform in only one. But for those lucky ones who are able to get to the Polish capital, you are in for a rare treat; an Argerich warhorse staple, Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concerto!

29 August 2013
8pm
Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No.3 in C major, op.26
Substituted by Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 1, op. 15
Martha Argerich, piano
Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra/Jacek Kaspszyk
Philharmonic Concert Hall, Warsaw, Poland

  2. In fact she played Beethoven's piano concerto no. 1, not Prokofiev 3 as originally advertised.

  3. I'm very old and since the late 192's I've heard them all : Rachmaninof,Backhaus,Arrau, Gieseking,Hoffman,Lippati,Rubinstein,Horowitz,Richter ,etc, etc There is no doubt in my mind that Martha Argerich is the gratest pianist that I ever heard ,not only of the 20th century but perhaps in history
