Continuing
her tour with the Kremerata Baltica, and following Brussels and Paris
in January, Martha Argerich is off to Munich and Freiburg in February
with the Shostakovich first piano concerto.
Then in Lyon, she teams up with Lilya Zilberstein for two concerts at the Salle Molière, as part of the Piano à Lyon series, after which Argerich returns to Salle Pleyel in Paris where she will play in two chamber music concerts on 11 and 12 February.
NB. For health reasons, Martha Argerich has had to cancel the two concerts on 11 and 12 February in Paris.

PYR, don't you know, what's the matter with her? Just reducing the number of concerts because of tiredness?
ReplyDeleteI don't know the details, but I am guessing she feels the need to take it easy, which is perfectly normal for any artist.
ReplyDeleteJust because on one hand, I understand this, but on the other hand, I don't understand, why has she planned so many concerts, when she cancels a half of them... I got so unhappy, when I went nearly 300 kilometers to hear her, but a day before I discovered, that I'm gonna hear just Yuja Wang except of her…
DeleteI can't speak for MA, but what I do suggest is that you check before leaving with the ticket office whether she will indeed perform or not.
DeleteNos encanta Marta, pero este era un regalo que le hacía a mi marido: escucharla por primera vez en su vida, y ahora ya no podremos. Habíamos reservado todo para estas fechas y ahora ya no podemos cambiarlo.
ReplyDeleteUn beso Marta.
I hope so too!
ReplyDeleteBut on the other hand - if this was something serious, she would cancel the whole month or something and a few days before Paris (11-12) she is playing with Zilberstein. So I think it's normal.
I wish you 100 more years on stage Martha!
I travelled 400 km February 7 to attend the concert in Lyon at the Salle Molière. MA and Lilya Zilberstein played two additional pieces as encores. The energy after two and a half hours was still tangible. Unforgettable concert.
